Lesson

Tutahhiru – (you may purify), origin of this word is tat-hiir, which means “to purify”. Its base is tahara. Two other words from it - tahar and tahaarat are more used. Meaning of these both words are “cleanliness and elegance”.

Tuzakki – {you may make (them) grow}, its origin is taz-kiyah, which means “to increase, to enlarge”. Zakaat is a famous word from its origin, which means “alms, to give money to any needy person from own wealth”. It is cause of increasing the wealth. And it is called “making grow (barakah)”. Zakaat (paying the poor-due) is cause of increasing the wealth and making it grown.

It was discussed in the previous lesson that many servants of Allah Almighty are those who believe in God and the Hereafter heartily. But the errors are committed by them also. Such people should repent immediately (without further delay) and do good works, because performing good is expiation of errors.

One particular good work has been mentioned in this verse, due to which; the sins are forgiven and the condition of the society is set off. And the common people do not indulge in sins due to poverty and starvation.

It is commanded: You should take alms from their earnings for the necessitous people, because alms will purify them from their errors and the people will become more prosperous. Prosperity of the people provides opportunity of calling them unto good works.

Then you should pray for them also, because their hearts will be satisfied when you will supplicate for them; as well as they will think: “Allah Almighty and His Messenger (SallAllaahu alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam) are our Supporters. One (God) is causing to rain on us of His Mercy and the Other {God’s Messenger (SallAllaahu alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam)} is supplicating for our betterment”.

Passion of doing well and giving alms and charity will grow in their hearts, and their mutual co-operation will increase. They will wish to do good works more and more, and will find occasion of talking about good matters altogether too. Allah Almighty is Hearer of all these matters and Knower of intentions hidden in the hearts. He will guide them unto the Straight Path of goodness, and He will be Merciful on them.
