Commentary

Saaa-‘igan – (palatable), this word is a Subject from sawgun. Sawgun means “getting down of anything in the throat easily and gently, for which it is necessary that it should be delicious and tasteful.

It has been commanded in this verse that besides the produce of the land, necessities of your life have been produced from the cattle also. Behold! Whatsoever they (the cattle) eat, that is changed into the form of three things (by the parts working inside the body, when it goes into their bellies).

·       Its one form is “dung, manure, excrement” etc. which is thrown out.

·       Second form is blood which maintains their life.

·       From the middle of above both things, a third thing is produced which is called “Milk”. It is pure from the stenches and tastelessness etc. It is a clean, beautiful and palatable thing, which is a food; gets in the belly easily, and the people drink by enjoying its full taste. From the remaining milk, it is useful also for preparing butter, curd, diluted milk and cheese etc. which are very strong and delicious diets. The strength which cannot be acquired from grains, vegetables and fruit etc. can be produced by means of the milk, so that no deficiency should remain in the growth of human body.
