Worship of That Who is Highly Exalted (2)

Chapter RUUM” - (THE ROMANS) - 30

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahiminash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

It was commanded: The prayer is a source of praising Allaah Almighty, glorifying Him and admitting His Magnificence. At first Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) exposed his opinion after looking the sun: It is greatest bright and magnificent planet, so if anyone can be my God; that is it. Then he (peace be upon him) continued looking at it and saying: It is the greatest God. When he (peace be upon him) saw that its condition was changed after declining of the sun, he doubted in its greatness. After that its brilliance began to become dim in the last part of the day. In the darkness of the night it disappeared entirely. When the night ended, its light appeared again and it began to undergo the same conditions. After observing such states, Abraham (peace be upon him) denied from accepting the sun as God, because which thing has so many changes in its conditions, whose splendor increases and decreases so much, that is not able to be a great God.

Therefore, he (peace be upon him) said wholeheartedly: Allaah is The Greatest Who does not have any connection with increase or decrease. No difference comes in His greatness and glory at any time. Accordingly, the same five times {Fajr (early morning prayer), Zuhr (noon prayer), ‘Asr (afternoon prayer), Magrib (evening prayer) & ‘Ishaa’ (the prayer of the first watch of the night) were prescribed in the above quoted verses for the times of the worship of Allaah Almighty. Offer your prayers during these times which begin with “Allaahu Akbar” (Allaah is the Greatest). It is acceptance of this matter that all Excellences and Praise in the heavens and in the earth are for Him only. Remember His Divine Power! He brings into being - living animal from the dead egg and dead egg from the living animal. When the land becomes dry and dead, He causes to rain of mercy, by which the land becomes fresh, moist and alive. Conclude from it that like this, He will reproduce the mankind after death in the Hereafter. Every human being, wherever he will be, will be brought to life again and raised.

After standing in the prayer respectfully and saying Allaahu Akbar, you should praise to Allaah Almighty, recite the verses of Holy Qur’an and meditate in their meanings. Then bow down, prostrate before Him, praise of His name and show your humility. Collection of all such matters is called “Prayer”, which is a remembrance of that way; by which Abraham (peace be upon him) disinclined from entire apparent glittering things like sun; which is the greatest from all of them, and turned towards Allaah Almighty, Who is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, heartily. You also should incline towards Allaah Almighty during those times; in which the conditions of the sun are changed. Believe in Him, worship Him and do good works being His obedient, so that you may acquire the Garden on the Day of Resurrection.
