Commentary
After observing their stubbornness, the three Prophets (peace be
upon them) also responded emphatically. They said: Allaah Almighty knows
that without any doubt; we have been sent for conveying the Message of the
Truth to you. We have no personal interest in it. We have neither come to show our
superiority over you and nor we desire to become your Chieftains. We have been
given this responsibility that we should deliver that Message to you clearly for
which we have been sent. It depends upon you that whether you admit it or otherwise.
There is no such reason of disobeying us, but if you have got ready to persist
and debate irregularly then it is your unnecessary wrangling. Your misbehavior
will be considered as violence.
This discourse of the Prophets (peace be upon them) was very
clear and frankly. They were unable to reply. So being weary; they began to threaten
them (peace be upon them) and talk nonsense. They said: Don’t talk more and
more. We have been observing that confusion has been spreading with effect from
your arrival. We were living peacefully before your coming in this City. Due to
your bad omen, neither the jollity remained as it was before you and nor
fondness of business remained like earlier. Raining has been suspended and it
seems that we would have to suffer from famine. Disasters broke in upon us from
all around after your arrival. We consider that
it entire happened due to ill-luck of your feet’s bad omen.
