unto Moses the Scripture, and there was strife thereupon. And had it not been
for a Word that had already gone forth from thy Lord, the case would have
been judged between them. And lo! They are in grave doubt concerning it.

thy Lord will verily repay his works in full. Lo! He is Aware of what they

Commentary
Lammaa – (when the time will come), it
is an adverb of time by bringing the next and previous composition together,
after it the time will come, naturally it is understood. Therefore, it has not been
mentioned in words.
Yu-waffi-yanna-hum – (will repay them
in full), its origin is yu-waffii, which has been derived from ta-waffi-yatun.
Its single is wa-faa’, which means “accomplishing and performing a
promise”. Earlier, it has been used in many forms. Ta-waffi-yatun means
“to clear accounts, to dispose of”.
From the nation of Moses (peace be upon him), some
people believed but others did not. However, Allah Almighty has already decided
that reward and punishment concerning good and wicked deeds will be given to
the mankind on the Day of Resurrection. They are in grave doubt regarding the
Day of Resurrection, Reward and Punishment. This doubt does not let them decide
correctly. Allah Almighty will repay in full to every individual; retaliation
of their good or evil deeds; on the Day of Resurrection. Your Lord does not
make haste in punishment, because the Day of Judgment has already been
fixed.
