Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Commentary

Nufuuran – (in aversion), this word is plural of naafir which means “the person who hates”. A word nafrat has come out from the same which means “to hate, to run away because of sudden surprise of fear”.

Najwaaa – (secret counsel among themselves, whispering mutually), this word has passed in Suratun-Nisaa’.

Mas-huuran – (the bewitched person), this word has been derived from sahar, which means “to bewitch, enchantment, magic”. Mas-hoor is the person who has been bewitched and because of its effect he converses as the person who has been mislead, who has become mad after love.

It is commanded: It is the influence of those secret veils which have been placed upon their hearts that when Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) recites the verses of God’s Oneness, then they turn their backs and run away because they like to hear only the mention of their false gods and they feel themselves uncomforting when they hear the name of Allah Almighty. And when it seems that they have been hearing being attentive, then it aims that they wish to make mention of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) in the style of aversion and jesting, that “what a nonsense that you obey such person who has become mad by the bewitching” (Let us flee to God). There is no need of following Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). You should not give ear to Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). (God forbid).
