17b. Lo! Those whom ye serve instead of Allah
own no provision for you. So seek your provision from Allah, and serve Him,
and give thanks unto Him, (for) unto Him ye will be brought back.

Commentary
It is commanded: The things which you adore instead of Allaah
Almighty, do not possess any particle of your provision. Those could give you
something if had something. Those have nothing to give but Allaah
Almighty is in Whose treasure is everything. He is Owner of everything and only
He gives provision to all animate beings. Put these idols off, worship and
praise Allaah Almighty and ask for booms from Him only, remove these
false and helpless gods from the centre. You will see that even then, the
provision is being given to you. Think! Who gives provision? Listen and believe
that He is Allaah Almighty. Ask for provision from Him only, then why do
you associate others with Him? Set it apart because it is falsehood. Be
grateful to Allaah Almighty and praise Him because He has given and will
provide all required things.
Hear! A Day is near to come, when all of you will be present in His
Court, whether you live anywhere in the world and do what you wish. You will have
to be returned to Him. If you disobeyed His Command, how will you face on the
Day of Resurrection? What answer will you give when He will ask from you: Why
did you worship others instead of Me?
17b) Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do
not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allah provision and
worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned."
