Commentary
La-Nubawwi-‘anna – (We shall house,
We shall assign).
Gurafun – (lofty chambers,
upper rooms), this word is plural of gurfatun, which means “rooms in
upper storey”.
Disbelievers of Makkah had made difficult for the Muslims to
live. The Muslims have been commanded in this verse: The purpose of life should
be to worship Allaah Almighty. If you are unable to worship Him in your
native land, then you should leave it and settle at any other place. Difficulties
of this world are only for a few days; at last you have to die. Remember it
that every soul will taste death. None can be saved
from it. And after death you will be reproduced before Allaah Almighty. By compulsion, you would
have to leave your native land, families, companions and friends at the time of
death. So if you will leave all such relationships for the sake of Allaah
Almighty, you will be requited with good reward after death.
Allaah Almighty commands:
it is Our Promise that if you will believe and do
righteous deeds - We will surely assign to you of Paradise (elevated) chambers
beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally.
After that, many families immigrated from Makkah to Abyssinia.
