Commentary
Baaduuna – (in the
desert among the Bedouins, the wandering Arabs), this word is plural of baadii,
which means “wandering out of the township”. Badaviyyun means
“villagers”.
‘Uswatun – (example, pattern).
Condition of the Hypocrites is being described. It is commanded:
Although the Armies of the Infidels have returned from the Battlefield, even
then these people say that the companies have
not yet withdrawn but they are still in the battlefield for killing us (the
Hypocrites). Their hearts have been trembling due to fear. They wish to wander
in the desert, away from the Township and get the news concerning you from
there, when the Armies of the enemies approach, although they do not take part
in the battle while they are along with you.
It is commanded: The people who have believed
in Allaah Almighty and the Day of Resurrection, and who remember Allaah
Almighty only in their hearts, for them, the pattern of the Messenger of Allaah
Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is the best example,
to whom they should follow. They do never fear at the time of any danger and
confront the troubles bravely. They should follow you O Messenger (grace,
glory, blessings and peace be upon him) who are hopeful for reward from Allaah
Almighty.
