Those, whose works have perished in both worlds

Lesson # 1107 from Holy Qur-’aan

Those, whose works have perished in both worlds

Surah ‘TAWBAH or BARAAA-‘AH (REPENTANCE) – Chapter – 9)
Stage – 2, Verse – 69b of 129, Section – 9 of 16 (Part – 10)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

69b.  Thus they enjoyed their lot awhile, so ye have enjoyed your lot awhile even as those before you did enjoy their lot awhile; and ye prate even as they prated. Such are they whose works have perished in the world and the Hereafter. And such are they who are the losers.
69b.  Fas-tamta-‘uu  bi- khalaa-qihim  fas-tamta’-tum  bi-‘ khalaa-qikum  kamas-tamta-‘alla-ziina  min  qabli-kum-  bi-khalaa-qihim  wa khuztum  kallazii  khaazuu.  ‘Ulaaa-‘ika  habitat  ‘a’-maaluhum  fid-dunyaa  wal-  ‘Aakhirah.  Wa  ‘ulaaa-‘ika  humul-khaasiruun.

Lesson

It was indicated in the previous verses that the people should learn from the circumstances of those who have passed off from this world. In this verse, it has been described that behavior and condition of the both (the people who are existing now and those who have departed), is equal.

It is commanded that those people who were before you, they enjoyed according to their wishes with that which they had, and they did never think about the result. Now you should behold yourselves that; what have you been doing? The things which have come in your portion, are not more than of them. They were physically stronger than you. More property, assets and wealth of the world they possessed than you.

Having everything less than them, you have been celebrating merriments like them, being ignorant and intoxicated. Your character is the same as of those people. They had forgotten God Almighty and His Omnipotence being intoxicated in their power, strength, property and wealth. Like them, you have also been entangled in the worldly matters and do not care for the Cause of Allah Almighty.

Then, you observed: What was happened with them? Their strong bodies, wealth and property could not save them from the punishment of God Almighty. Being inferior to them in all these matters, you have also been entangled in the problems of the world like them. Think for a moment! While even excessive worldly things could not save them, then how can these a few things save you from the torment of God Almighty?

Certainly, all deeds, done by them, were of no avail. Neither anything was useful for them in the world and nor on the Day of Resurrection. If you wish to see the people; who have been entangled in loss and scarcity, then observe them. Learn from their circumstances. Correct your character and fear Allah Almighty.
