(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

7b.  Why is not an angel sent down unto him, to be a Warner with him –

8.  Or (why is not) treasure thrown down unto him, or why hath he not a garden from whence to eat? And the evildoers say: Ye are but following a man bewitched.
7b.  Law  laaa  ‘unzila  ‘ilayhi  malakun  faya-kuuna  ma-‘ahuu  naziiraa.

8.  ‘Aw  yulqaaa  ‘ilayhi  kanzun  ‘aw  takuunu  lahuu  jannatuny-ya’-kulu  minhaa.  Wa  qaalaz-zaalimuuna  ‘in  tattabi-‘uuna  ‘illaa  rajulam-mas-huuraa.

Commentary

They say: Messenger of Allaah Almighty was supposed to be an Angel, who would neither have been necessitous of food and water, nor had to walk in the markets like common people. However, if he were a mankind, he would have been impressive and a glorious man, before and behind of whom there would have been angels in ranks and files for information of the people and safety of the Messenger. If not more, then one angel was necessary to be along with the Messenger every time for frightening the people, by the influence of which the people had to hear the Sayings of the Messenger.

Well, pass it over! Any unusual position of the Messenger were to be compulsory, for example, any heap of treasures in his possession, from which he would have helped the needy people and they had to come running unto him and follow him. If it not then he had to be a landlord and a rich person. He had to possess a garden full of fruit trees, along with dates and grapes etc. in abundance and from which he had to feed the people also along with himself. While he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) possesses nothing from the above mentioned things then how can we admit that he is Messenger of Allaah Almighty Who is the King of all kings.

O people! We think now that if you heard him, you would hear such person who has been bewitched and who has lost his senses (God forbid).

7a.  And they say: What aileth this Messenger (of Allah) that he eateth food and walketh in the markets?
7a.  Wa  qaaluu  maa  li-  haazar-Rasuuli  ya’-kulut-ta-‘aama  wa  yamshii  fil-‘aswaaq.

Commentary

Maa  li-  haazar-Rasuuli – actually this is maa  lihaazar-Rasuuli. In Quranic mode of writing, “li” was written separate from “haazaa”. Then it was not changed. Maa means “what happened”. Literal translation of “Li- haazar-Rasuuli” is “for this Messenger”.

Those ideas have been made mention in this verse; which the people used to expose concerning the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). The reason was not it that they used to deny his pedigree, but they were well aware of it that he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) belonged to a noble family in every way. He did neither ever tell a lie, nor deceive any person and nor give pain to anybody for own benefits. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) helped the poor and the feeble always, and fulfilled the requirements of the needy people. They did never refuse from his personal qualities and ancestral dignity. They saw their death only in it that he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) proclaimed concerning a new Religion, which if succeeded, then all traditions of their forefathers would be trodden. And they, who had become chieftains of all, would become his (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) slaves. Therefore, they desired that the people should not listen to him.

It is commanded: They try to prevent others from inclining unto you by saying: Can this position of such Messenger of Allaah Almighty be that he eats food like common people and makes purchases in the markets too? Ambassadors of worldly Kings bring his message with great pomp and show. This man (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), who claims that he is Ambassador of Allaah Almighty, Who is the King of the kings, but he performs his all works himself like ordinary men. Neither he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has anything of pomp and show and nor there is any Army along with him.

6.  Qul  ‘anzala-hullazii  ya’-lamus-Sirra  fis-samaawaati  wal-‘arz.  ‘InnaHuu  kaana  Gafuurar-Rahiimaa.

Commentary

Dignity and exaltation of the contents of Holy Qur’an, along with splendor of its Words and Dictions have been pointed out here that this is not any ordinary Discourse which may be made by any mankind, because knowledge of the mankind, whether that is very vast; however that is limited. And he cannot know every matter. Even in this limited circle too, he cannot command and make decisions with that confidence; which is a prominent peculiarity of Holy Qur’an.

It has been commanded in this verse: Say to these stubborn people that they should ask the state of this Holy Qur’an from their hearts. Such secret matters can be available in the Word of such Knower, in Whose knowledge, all circumstances of the heavens and the earth exist clearly, and Who is Aware of all corners of the entire universe. By the means of these vast sciences, He knows well your trickeries too. And He can punish you severely due to your stupidities. But it is His Mercy and Grace that notwithstanding it, He pardons your rudenesses, because as He is Knower, He is Ever-Forging and Merciful too. It is by the fortune of His forgiving and pardon that you are being loosened and your adversity is being set aside, because He knows also that some are such people from you who will be impressive from this attractive Word. And they will learn practicing from the bountiful company of the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) by hearing according to the commandments of Holy Qur’an. In future, they will be bestowed with the ruling of the world. And they will illumine the candle of Allaah’s Word in the entire world. Your obstinacy is for a few days, so you are being set free for some days, so that you may do according to your wishes. If Allaah Almighty had not been Ever-Forgiving and Merciful, you would have been punished immediately due to your arrogance, and you could do nothing.

A story made up by the Infidels - Quran Chapter 25: 5 (Pt-18, Stg-4) (L-2263) درس قرآن

A story made up by the Infidels

Chapter Furqaan”- {The Criterion (of Right and Wrong)} - 25

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

5.  And they say: Fables of the men of old which he hath had written down so that they are dictated to him morn and evening.
5.  Wa  qaaluuu  ‘asaatiirul-‘awwaliinak-tataba-haa  fahiya  tum-laa  ‘alayhi  bukratanw-wa  ‘asiilaa.

Commentary

‘Asaatiiru – (fables), this word is plural of ‘ustuuratun, which has passed earlier. Fable means “a fictitious narration intended to enforce some useful truth, a moral story”.

Tum-laa – (are dictated, are read aloud to be written down, are communicated authoritatively). This word has been derived from ‘imlaa-‘un, came out from mal-wun. Mal-wun means: to stay. ‘Imlaa-‘un means “to do any work step by step”. Here it aims: To recite and cause to hear again and again.

Infidels of Makkah were desirous to seize Islam in all conditions. For this purpose, they were not shy of telling a clear lie. They used to say: Jewish slaves used to tell him, the Messenger, (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) old fables and he copies them. Those foolish people did not have sense that while the Jews were unable to speak the Arabic language clearly, then how could they dictate such fables in so much polished and eloquent compositions?

From resisting the style of Holy Qur’an, great masters of Arabic language had been rendered helpless also. Great eloquent and elegant lecturers and poets had bowed before his (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) superior language. These hard worker slaves, who did not have any chance of learning polished and eloquent language, used to either serve and attend their masters only or make some things of iron like blacksmiths or prepare wooden goods like carpenters. How could they know writing such grand dictations, which is a peculiarity of Holy Qur’an? But they could not think so due to their blind religious persecution. In the beginning, some number of believers used to attend the court of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) both times – morning and evening, and he recite before them currently revealed verses of Holy Qur’an. Upon this, the infidels made up a story that “he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) gets the fables written down during the whole day from others and those are dictated before the companions in the morning and the evening by new ways.

Disbelievers’ conduct with Qur’an - Quran Chapter 25: 4 (Pt-18, Stg-4) (L-2262) درس قرآن

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

4.  And those who disbelieve say: This is naught but a lie that he hath invented, and other folk have helped him with it, so that they have produced a slander and a lie.
4.  Wa  qaalal-laziina  kafaruu  ‘in  haazaaa  ‘illaaa  ‘ifku-nif-taraahu  wa  ‘a-‘aanahuu  ‘alayhi  qawmun  ‘aakharuuna  faqad  jaaa-‘uu  zulmanw-wa  zuuraa.

Commentary

‘Ifkun – (a baseless lie), this word has passed in Suratun-Nuur.

‘Iftaraa – {(he) invented}, it is past tense from ‘iftaraa-‘un which has come out from fa-ra-ya. Faraya means “to make something by conjecture”.

‘A-‘aana – {(he) helped}, this word is in past tense from ‘a-‘aanat which has been derived from ‘awn. ‘Awn means “help”. ‘A-‘aanat means “to help”.

It was commanded in the first verse of this chapter that “Blessed is He (Allaah Almighty) Who revealed Holy Qur’an. And Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), unto whom it was revealed, is His Messenger.

Then it was commanded: These people did injustice with The Three - Allaah Almighty, the Scripture He revealed and His chosen Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). At first they were arrogant against Allaah Almighty that after looking His apparent tokens, which have been spreading in the heavens and the earth, they did not know Him and began to adore useless things.

After that, their conduct has been mentioned in this verse which they adopted with Holy Qur’an. It is commanded: Those who do not have belief in Allaah Almighty; say! This Qur’an is nothing (God forbid) but a volume of falsehood, which he {the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)} has invented himself, and some other people; that is to say; Jewish slaves have helped him. Did you behold! These people have gripped up their loins on slander and violence from beginning to end that they say (God forbid) that such (rare) Book is a collection of falsehood, and they prate concerning it what comes on their tongues.

This Scripture is based on the Truth entirely; and nothing is self-invented or a lie in it. It has been filled with such treasures of knowledge and wisdom, out of which; those people who will meditate, will find out useful matters according to their extent and reap advantage from them.

Commentary

After describing obvious attributes of Allaah Almighty, it has been commanded in this verse: Condition of these people is strange. Among the entire creatures, it seems that signs of God’s omnipotence have been saying themselves that there can be no God save Allaah Almighty. But nothing strikes the people. The greatest token which Allaah Almighty disclosed before them; is that He revealed a Dignified Book like Holy Qur’an upon one of His slaves named Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him); which describes them concerning clear difference between right and wrong, and He commanded to him: Recite its verses before them so that they may know that Allaah Almighty is the Source of Kindness, The Greatest Ruler of the heavens and the earth, neither He has any son or daughter and nor any partner or companion in the Sovereignty. He is Who created all these things and bestowed them provisions and advantageous powers according to their requirement.

After providing so many tokens for knowing Him, still these people bow their heads before idols, stones and trees, and adore them; turning away from That Omnipotent and All-Powerful, Wise and Merciful Lord. They are unable to understand that their self-fabricated gods did not produce and show even a straw of grass till today. On the contrary; those are lifeless and made by human hands, otherwise those are nothing. While those cannot think about their own hurt or profit, then how can those harm or profit others? Neither those possess life nor death and nor have any power to raise the dead. Weep on the sense of such idolaters who make such decisions.
