Creator and Fabricator of all things is Allah - Quran Chapter 13 – Ra-‘d (Pt-13, Stg-3) (L-1555) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 13  Ra-‘d (Pt-13, Stg-3) (L-1555) - درس قرآن

Creator and Fabricator of all things is Allah

Surah Ra-‘d (The Thunder) - 13

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

This Surah (Chapter) was revealed in Makkah. Numerically, it is thirteenth Surah of Holy Qur’aan. It contains six Sections. The word Ra-‘d is used for “The Thunder”. Because the word Ra-‘d has been mentioned in this Surah, so it is named “Surah Ra-‘d”. In it also, basic principles of Islam have been explained like other Chapters; revealed in Makkah.

It was the first incident in the world that a magnificent Word was inspired by God Almighty in parts, successively from time to time, unto an illiterate Person, Who did not get any kind of education from anywhere. In this Word, the secret of the humanity was opened and caused to understand. A complete Code of Life was given for always to the entire people of the world by means of this Scripture.

In this Chapter too, the intention has been drawn towards this point that This Qur’aan is full of the Truth from top to toe. It is entirely a Publication of reality. It has come and brought a Message of their Creator unto the mankind. Allah Almighty
Has sent His last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) along with this Holy Book for Guidance of the entire human beings. Therefore, no one should have any doubt in Its Truth. It explains that Fabricator and Creator of all things and the entire universe is One, Allah Almighty. He is Who collects the clouds and causes to rain. The thunder of the clouds praises Him. The Angels (peace be upon them) are engaged in His admiration and attribute.

The human beings have been directed that this world is “a place of practice”. Retribution of every deed of this world will be given in the Hereafter. The Gardens are ready for those who obeyed, but the Hell for the disobedient. Every individual’s deeds will be reckoned on the Day of Resurrection, and which place every individual deserves, will be sent there.

In short, Unity and Attributes of God Almighty have been explained in this Surah, and then Belief in Allah, His Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), Holy Qur’aan, the Heaven, the Hell, the Angels, Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) has been fixed necessary for the human beings, for their deliverance.

Difference in the temperament - Quran Chapter 12 – 111 (Pt-13, Stg-3) (L-1554) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 12  111 (Pt-13, Stg-3) (L-1554) - درس قرآن

Difference in the temperament

Surah Yuusuf (Joseph) - 12

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

Surah Yuusuf (Chapter Joseph – peace be upon him) presents an imaginary map of the house of a Prophet and his family. Two groups had been born, from the beginning, among twelve sons of Prophet Jacob (peace be upon him), due to difference in their temperament. Joseph (peace be upon him) and his brother Binyamin were in one group, whereas other ten elder brothers were in the second, who were very robust and strong.

Prophet Jacob (peace be upon him) was desirous to train all of them in accord with perfect Islamic principles, by which a mankind confronts all matters with stability and determination. In such confronting, many difficulties come before him, but he uses the weapons of patience and forbearance in such conditions.

It seems that Prophet Joseph (peace be upon him) reaps the real advantage from the teachings of his father Jacob (peace be upon him). He sees through conduct and behavior of Joseph (peace be upon them) that this boy is encouraging. Joseph (peace be upon him) received full influence of ethics from his father Jacob (peace be upon him), and he tried to adopt that path; on which he saw his father. It is unavoidable that the father, who desires to train his son correctly, will love such son.

Trend of other sons was unto the worldly life more than enough and they used to consider that “we produce more worldly provisions by our strength and intelligence; therefore we are more prominent than Joseph (peace be upon him)”. Consequently, Joseph (peace be upon him) completed his religious requirements, but his elder brothers were lovers of the life of this world.

By the blessings of the religion, good manners like mildness, knowledge, liberality, large-minded and patience had been created in Joseph (peace be upon him). But due to bad presage of the world, envy, fear, perplexity, niggard-ness and selfishness appeared in his elder brothers.

Both groups worked in their lives according to own ways. Resultant, Joseph (peace be upon him) rose also in the world due to his good manners, but his brothers fell down due to inferiority of their manners, and at last they observed “there is no expedient save obedience of those who have good disposition”.

It is the time of thinking into its contents - Quran Chapter 12 – 111 (Pt-13, Stg-3) (L-1553) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 12  111 (Pt-13, Stg-3) (L-1553) - درس قرآن

It is the time of thinking into its contents

Surah Yuusuf (Joseph) - 12

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

Lessons from the twelfth Chapter “Joseph” (Surah Yuusuf – peace be upon him) have been over in the previous lesson. Now we should meditate in the contents discussed in this Chapter. After reciting every Chapter of Holy Qur’aan, reading its translation, explanation (Tafseer) and understanding, the time of meditating in its commandments and instructions begins. It should be recited again and again, and one should think “Which lessons can we learn from it?” It is the God’s actual aim of revealing this Word that “the mankind should keep it every time in view; and along with reciting it, he should continue meditating in its contents. And in the light of its Guidance, if it may be possible, one should correct; own as well as others’ deeds.

This Surah describes us that Islam is not a timely thing, which would be over with the passage of time, but it is a complete Code for human life, which began with the birth of human being in the world and it will come to an end when the human life will also come to an end.

If we say that Holy Qur’aan is “A Book of Guidance for trying and striving”, it’s right. It draws a picture of such Jihad before us, which was adopted by brave human beings against those who were evil-livers, tyrants and their supporters. It describes that the entire religions are rings of a chain from the beginning, and the main object of all religions is that the mankind should be put on the Straight Path. The human being leaves that Path due to being involved in worldly lust and curiosity, and then he is entangled in the marsh of any evil. Guidance of the religion desires to bring him out from the swamp. And if he is a fortunate, comes out.

Holy Qur’aan has explained about the true purpose of every religion and related them with one another. If the teachings of the religion are carried into effect, then religious misunderstanding and due to it, deadly enmity among one another (both), will disappear.

Saying about Holy Qur’aan that it is against those religions which passed in the world before it, is just like shedding blood of justice. However, it is against those false statements and stupidities, which have been entered in any religion by selfishness of the people. It reproduces a pure human religion before the mankind after removing all such errors. And the Holy Qur’aan is its Mirror-Holder Itself.

Commentary

Holy Qur’aan teaches us that we should use the powers of hearing, looking and thinking properly. It explains that abundant portents have been spreading in the world. Behold them with your open eyes; see archaeology, ruins of populated great buildings and remaining other tokens of the former people, by moving yourselves around the world. Then, think for awhile about all of them – Who created these all things? What did those people do who were living before us on the earth, and where have they gone now?

It was described in the previous verse that we should take warning from the circumstances of ancient people, by hearing their stories and looking the ruins of their populations. If your sense works here correctly then it will show you the consequence of all above mentioned incidents that “All things including us and those who were before us have been created by Allah Almighty, Who sent His Messengers (peace be upon them) for guidance of the entire mankind and causing to know us the circumstances of those people who have passed away before us. Then He commanded: In their history; verily there is a lesson for the people who meditate and understand. These are not false stories, but true circumstances of those who had been living in the world prior to us. Those of them, who committed wicked deeds, were seized in the wrath of Allah Almighty. You should realize them in mind and understand that if you also will commit evils, then you too will be punished like them.

Holy Qur’aan verifies the descriptions of the departed people and explains about every thing that “what is right and what is wrong”? The individuals; who will believe in Its commandments, will find the Straight Path and will be under the Mercy of God Almighty.

Commentary

It was explained in the previous verse that after hearing the circumstances of the passed folks, and by looking the signs of ruin of their populations, they should take warning. In this verse, it is commanded: Human beings sin and observe that the world is as same as it was before their sins, then they take courage and begin to commit irrational works, more than earlier, freely. Allah Almighty lets such people go worse. Moreover, sometimes, they feel that the circumstances have been being better than before, and they consider that “By my evil deeds, condition of mine and of the entire world has been improving”.

When the Messengers (peace be upon them) see “Firm prosperity and improvement by evil deeds of the common people, but no sign of punishment”, then they are disappointed that “these people will not obey our commandments now”, and they begin to think “lest we have misunderstood the Message of God Almighty and His Covenant”?

Allah Almighty commands: When this condition reaches, then We send Our help to the Messengers (peace be upon them) and Our common disaster comes unexpectedly upon the people. At that time, only those people are saved whom We desire to save. The guilty people are ruined and wretched. No one can save them after reaching Our wrath.

Have ye then no sense?

Commentary

Allah (Arabic name of God), The Most High, commands: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)! Those Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them), to whom We sent before you too, were from among the people of the townships. We chose anyone of them and began to inspire unto Him (peace be upon him). Circumstances of ancient people, which We cause to hear you, are not untrue.

These people who are around you, can travel in the land and see that those who did not obey Our Chosen Messenger (peace be upon him), what did happen worse with them? These people have fallen in love with the rank and grandeur of the world, whereas they have to die. They should arrange for the life after death and give up thinking about this world. The people before them have departed and left the world. Do they not know “how to take warning from their (old peoples’) circumstances”? It is entirely a fault of their sense.

It is known from this verse that neither any messenger was sent from among the women and nor from the villagers; any person was bestowed with this dignity. The Messengers (peace be upon them) were chosen always from among the men of the townships.

Commentary

In this verse, it has been commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): You should say to the people clearly: Behold! This is my way, which I have chosen. My sense has guided me after looking clear proofs in the light of inspiration; and after meditating into them, that I should invite with full faith and satisfaction to all such intelligent people of the world that they should turn towards that God Almighty Who is One. They should recite Holy Qur’aan thoughtfully and bear in mind whatsoever has been mentioned in It about Allah Almighty, and obey Its commandments wholeheartedly.

I, myself obey all such commandments carefully, and those people who have chosen my way, they also have chosen it in a very thoughtful manner. I consider heartily that Allah Almighty is quite pure from all kinds of evils and errors, and I do not ascribe any partner to Him. While no one is unblemished and faultless save Allah Almighty in oneself and attributes, then there can be none partner of Him in oneself or epithets. I am one of the Believers of Allah Almighty and do not make any partner of Him.

107.  Deem they themselves secure from the coming on them of a pall of Allah’s punishment, or the coming of the Hour suddenly while they are unaware?
107.  ‘Afa-aminuuu  ‘an-  ta’-ti-yahum  Gaashi-yatum-min  ‘azaa-Billaahi  ‘aw  ta’-ti-ya-humus-saa-‘atu  bag-ta-tanw-wa  hum  laa  yash-‘uruun.

Commentary

Gaashi-yatun – (a cloak, covering, a pall), it is a feminine subject from gashii. Gashii means “to cover, to besiege from all around”. Gaashi-yah means “a thing which spreads over everywhere and covers entirely”. Here it aims “a common disaster and calamity”.

It is commanded: Do they not fear from it that any sudden misfortune may come and seize them, and their breaths are stunned? Ultimately, which certain form of safety from it they have? Wrecker shocks of earthquakes, dust and rain storms, thunderbolt, stupefying inundation of rivers and seas, plague and disasters can come without information and surround suddenly, and they cannot be saved from them. Then why do they have been sitting so much fearless? And why have they begun to consider that “We can suffer no injury; though we commit in accordance with our every wish”? It can happen also that the world’s last time of ruin reaches suddenly and their mouths remain opened due to its terror, and the entire system of the world is disorganized immediately before their eyes but they may not know. Then what can they do at that time save it that they have to die a worse death?

In truth, ignorance of the mankind is astonishing. Any little or great disaster comes every year. By earthquakes, human beings, dwelling places and cattle are destroyed. By floods, crops, mankind and animals are ruined every year. Diseases and plagues attack usually but, even then, the human beings do not believe in Allah Almighty, His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and His Scripture, and they stand to challenge: Those who had to die; have died, but next; I shall make a suitable arrangement for it all in time.
