Quran Chapter 36: 51 & 52 (Pt-23, Stg-5) (L-2728) درس قرآن

The Field of Judgment

Chapter “YAA-SIIIN” - (YASIN) – 36

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

51.  And the Trumpet is blown and lo! from the graves they hie unto their Lord.

52.  Saying: Woe upon us! Who hath raised us from our place of sleep? This is that which the Beneficent did Promise, and the messengers spoke truth.
51.  Wa  nufikha  fis-Suuri  fa-‘izaa  hum-minal-‘ajdaasi  ‘ilaa  Rabbihim  yansiluun.

52.  Qaaluu  yaa-waylanaa  mam-ba-‘asanaa  mim-marqadinaa.  Haazaa  maa  wa-‘adar-Rahmaanu  wa  sadaqal-mursaluun.

Commentary

‘Al-‘ajdaasun – (the graves), this word is plural from jadasun, which also is used for “the grave”.

Yansiluuna – (they will hie, they will hasten), origin of this word is nasalun, naslaanun means “to walk fast and run”.

Earlier; it was commanded: What do you ask concerning the Day of Judgment. It will come suddenly when it will have to come. And you will hear a harsh screech when it will come and every living creature will die at the spot. The people will have neither any time to reach their home and nor to say something to someone else. The entire world will be perished including the heaven, the earth, the mountains, the stars, the sun and the moon etc.

In this verse, it is commanded: After a long time, when Allaah Almighty will desire, the Trumpet will be blown again, and the entire human beings will come back to life after death, stand up from their graves or where ever they would exist, and run towards the Field of Resurrection for being present before Allaah Almighty. They will be senseless due to fear. State of first death will seem to them like comfortable sleep; contrary to this confusion and they will say: Ah! By which calamity we have been overtaken? Who did shake and recall us from our bed-rooms? Their senses and Angels (peace be upon them) will give them answer: It is the same Field of Judgment for which the Most Merciful (Allaah Almighty) had promised. And that News, which was conveyed by the Messengers (peace be upon them), was quite true.

49.  They await not but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing.

50.  Falaa  yastatii-’uuna  tawsi-yatanw-wa  laaa  ‘ilaaa  ‘ahlihim  yarji-‘uun.
(Section - 3)

Commentary

It is commanded: When Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) recites the World of Allaah Almighty before them and it is said to them in Holy Qur’an: Human beings will be brought back to life again after death, the Day of Judgment will be established, those persons will be punished who did wrong; who did not believe in Allaah Almighty; His Messenger and His Scripture during their worldly life; and they will suffer a great torment, then they begin to laugh after hearing the recitation and say: When these Promises will be fulfilled? Show us fulfilled this Promise immediately if you are true. We are not infants that you desire to terrify us by causing to hear your self-made discourses. The stories of coming back to life again after death and reckoning for every individual’s personal deeds have been self-invented by you (Let us flee to God).

It was commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him): Say to them! You will not believe in this manner. You have been looking that when the Tokens of the Day of Resurrection begin. You would have been quarreling mutually with one another, the first Trumpet would be blown, its rigid and harsh sound would make your gall-bladders explode and you would fall down suddenly on the earth. Remember it that when such screech will begin then you will remain able to do nothing. Do something good before coming of that Time if you wish, otherwise you will not have even so much respite that you may say any word to someone else for help or return home, running. You will die and fall down at the spot in all conditions.

Commentary

Those people give wonderful answers to their Warner who like to stick to their way and feel trouble in following that which has been determined by the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him). Their dark side has been unfolded in this verse.

It is commanded: These people spend according to their will whenever they spend because they are vexed from the name of Allaah Almighty. If they are caused to understand: Your Hereafter will also become good if you spend, instead of own fame and name, according to the instructions and considering that it has been commanded by Allaah Almighty, then they say: You have been obsessed by religion.

Well let’s suppose you just fine that having belief in Allaah Almighty and obeying His Commands will be useful in this world as well as in the Hereafter, but O Believers of Allaah Almighty: In accord with your Belief; every work is done by the Command of Allaah Almighty, so which wealth and property we possess; is also given by Him, whereas He gave them nothing. It is the reason that they are poor.

Now you say that we should help the poor and the needy also from that which Allaah has given to us. Whereas according to the Will of Allaah, they should dwell in the same condition. If He willed, He had given them too more than enough. Will it not be against His Will if we shall give something to them? Therefore, it is clear that you are going wrong and misleading us.

44.  Unless by mercy from Us and as comfort for a while.

45.  And when it is said unto them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy (they are heedless).

46.  And never came a Token of the Tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it!

46.  Wa  maa  ta’-tiihim-min  ‘Aayatim-min  ‘Aayaati  Rabbihim  ‘illaa  kaanuu  ‘anhaa  mu’-riziin.

Commentary

It is commanded: There is no one who may save them if We desire to drown them and they will not find any help from anywhere. We have saved them by Our mercy because in spite of mankind’s wicked deeds, the world have to be kept established till the fixed time, so that those people may get opportunity of doing good works who have believed in Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) and begin to obey the Commandments mentioned in Our last Scripture (Holy Qur’an) for going Right. We do not destroy the world immediately due to evil deeds of wrongdoers and wickedness of wicked people because it has been decided that the works of the world have to run some more days, so that dutiful people should act upon Our Advice. But there are some such people who persevere in their stubbornness instead of listening to useful discourses carefully. When they are warned that they have to confront the Day of Resurrection which certainly shall come and they should think to be saved from the painful doom of that Day; they should imagine when their deeds will be reckoned and fear from the consequence of their wrong deeds; so that maybe they have mercy, then they do not care and turn away. Allaah Almighty sends His Tokens again and again for drawing their attention, but as soon as they see them, return and run away instead of meditating. They are totally careless.

41.  And a Token unto them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship-

42.  And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride.

43.  And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved-

43.  Wa  ‘in-Nasha’  Nugriqhum  falaa  sariikha  lahum  wa  laa  hum  yunqazuun.

Commentary

Sariikhun – (a redresser of grievances, a defender, a plaintiff),

In this verse, the attention has been drawn towards an incident, when population of the mankind had been surrounded in a very oppressive water-storm during the times of Noah (peace be upon him). Genealogy of human beings was saved in only one ship at that time, which was fabricated by Noah (peace be upon him) according to the Inspiration of Allaah Almighty. Thence the mankind learnt moving on the water by ship.

It is commanded: For knowing Allaah Almighty, there is another token for the mankind in it that He saved the race of human beings from drowning in the storm by means of a ship which was fully loaded with them and then their lineage spread all over the world from them.

After that, many other means of conveyance were produced like that ship, by which human beings travel during the journey of land, air and sea. You observe the people moving from one place to the other courageously by big ships in the oceans. We can drown them in great Sea if We will. Is it not sufficient for knowing Us? Neither any other can save them from drowning instead of Us and nor anyone responding to a cry would there be for them at that time.
