Commentary

It was the condition of the people of Makkah that when Merciful Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) caused to hear them Message of God Almighty, they did not feel like the ancient disobedient nations; even after hearing their Resurrection. Then it was caused to hear them the Commandment of Allah Almighty: Now the Command of Allah Almighty is near to reach, but you should consider that It has reached, because before sending doom on any nation, a Prophet (peace be upon him) is sent for their guidance. If they do not listen to the Messenger (peace be upon him) and trouble Him, then at first, any big calamity comes upon them in the world. After that (death), the number is of the Day of Resurrection.

Allah Almighty has appointed Me (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) as His last Messenger and sent unto you. If you will disobey Me, you will be punished and ruined. Because after Me, no Prophet will come, so My arrival is a Sign of the arrival of the Last Day (the general resurrection), for, what was required to be caused to know the mankind, has been caused to understand them by means of Me (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). Now after Me; for you is only – anguish of the world and the General Resurrection. And there is nothing between you and these. I explain before you that Allah Almighty has commanded: I have sent source of your eternal life care of My last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). There is no worthy of worship save Me. Therefore, you should keep your duty unto Me.

Hell is abode for thankless and wrongdoers - Quran Chapter 16 – Intro (Pt-14, Stg-3) (L-1688) درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 16  Intro (Pt-14, Stg-3) (L-1688) درس قرآن

Hell is abode for thankless and wrongdoers

Surah ‘Al-Hijr - (The Rocky Tract) - 15

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Depending on the configuration, it is sixteenth Chapter of Holy Qur’aan, which was revealed during the last days of stay at Makkah. However its some verses were revealed in the initial days after flight of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) from Makkah to Madinah. This chapter was named as Suratun-Nahl because there is mention of the Bee in it, which draws attention unto the matter that it keeps itself engaged in working laboriously and is useful for others. In accord with the Arabic language, Nahl means “A Bee”. This word also means “to bestow”. In this Chapter, attention of the mankind has been drawn unto blessings and favors of his Lord and The Real Benefactor, which He bestowed upon human beings. Therefore, he should be thankful to Allah Almighty, determine that only He is Worthy of worship and devotion, and none other should be made a partner of Him in His Nature and Attributes.

The End of those who are good slaves of Allah Almighty and thankful to Him, have been mentioned in this Surah that they will be admitted in the Gardens, whereas those who are wrongdoers and thankless, their abode will be the Hell. Which arguments the idolaters present in favor of their behavior, it has been proved that those are unreasonable. And the wrongdoers have been frightened that various kinds of disasters of the world may come upon them due to their evil days. Besides this, they should understand that the Day of Resurrection is Rightful. On that Day, deeds of every individual will be counted and according to own deeds they will be rewarded or punished.

It is Mercy of Allah Almighty that despite wicked deeds of the human beings, the world is firm, because respite is given to all for a fixed period, so that the person who desires to correct himself; may reap advantage from this respite. On the Doomsday, trustworthy witnesses will give evidence. The decision will not be conjectural, but every individual will have full faith that the Decision which has been finalized in favor of him; is 100% correct.

In the same Chapter, principles of human ethics and actions have been described and ways of mutual cooperation have been fixed. In this regard, life-story of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) has been produced as a model role for mankind. And it has been commanded that the last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has come for completion of the same Way, which was adopted and established by Abraham (peace be upon him). Way of preaching of Islam has been explained and instructions regarding patience and steadiness have been given. For the good and pious people, Allah Almighty has promised to help them.

Sufficient Signs for consideration - Quran Chapter 15 – 97 to 99 (Pt-14, Stg-3) (L-1687) درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 15  97 to 99 (Pt-14, Stg-3) (L-1687) درس قرآن

Sufficient Signs for consideration

Surah ‘Al-Hijr - (The Rocky Tract) - 15

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

On previous lesson, Suratul-Hijr (Chapter – 15) was finished. In this Chapter, which was revealed in Makkah, it has been described to the people that which verses are being recited before you, it is a complete Book. You should acquire necessary guidance from it for passing through very risky path of your worldly life. Remember it that which inconsiderate people have been turning away from it at this time, and they are careless and senseless due to worldly pleasures, they will be sentenced to suffer due to ignorance.

It is commanded: We have sent down this Book care of Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and only We are its Protector. The people who do not consider this token sufficient for the truth of Our Messenger, they will not accept even any other Sign.

After that it is commanded to the mankind: Allah Almighty has revealed this Book for the guidance of human beings, because an enemy has also been born along with the mankind, who has taken up the gauntlet of misleading the mankind from the straight path and showing him the path of straying by deceiving. Those who believe in Satan and obey him, will suffer from very severe doom after death. Moreover, those people who will not be attentive to Iblis, but will follow the Sayings of Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and obey the commands of this Book (Holy Qur’aan), a Garden will be for them after this life, where every kind of luxurious goods is ready for ever.

Sufficient wisdom has been given to Mankind for understanding this matter that by beholding the things of the earth and the sky, and by observing the circumstances; he should know Allah Almighty, and by hearing the happenings on the ancient people, he should infer that Allah Almighty is Merciful on His obedient servants and He punishes very severely to the disobedient.

Behold the Sean Mercy of Allah Almighty that during the old age He bestowed a hopeful son to Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him); and reflect in the Sean Divine Wrath that He ruined the disobedient and rebellious nations by His anguish as the folk of Lot, ‘As-haabul-‘Aykah and ‘As-haabul-Hijr etc. in the world.

Then, Allah Almighty commanded to His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and His obedient Muslims: We bestowed graciousness to you in the world as Holy Qur’aan. You should hold it fast and ignore the worldly people and their transitory wealth. If you are afflicted by them, you should engage yourselves in the Praise of Allah Almighty, prayer and His worship, and continue this work until death. Your entire problems will be solved.

SubhaanAllaahi  wa  biHamdiHii  SubhaanAllaahil-‘Aziim

Surah ‘Al-Hijr - (The Rocky Tract) - 15

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

97.  Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say-

98.  So hymn the Praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him).

99.  And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee.
97.  Wa  laqad  Na’-lamu  ‘anna-ka  yaziiqu  sadruka  bimaa  ya-quuluun.

98.  Fasabbih  biHamdi-  Rabbika   wa  kum-minas-Saajidiin.

99.  Wa’-bud  Rabbaka  hattaa  ya’-tiya-kal-Yaqiin.

Commentary

Yaziiqu – (is oppressed), ziiq means narrowness. Ziiqas-Sadr means “being oppressed of the bosom”.

Yaqiin – (in which there is no doubt), such thing is death for the mankind in the world. That will have to die certainly who has born.

It is commanded: The works of Allah Almighty are full of wisdom and planning. There can be some delay also in punishment due to any suitableness. We know that Your heart is pathetic due to their abuses and rudeness, and Your bosom is oppressed due to their mischief. Its treatment is that You should begin to hymn the praise of Allah Almighty. Recite repeatedly “SubhaanAllaahi  wa  biHamdiHii  SubhaanAllaahil-‘Aziim” and be connected with those who fall prostrate before Allah Almighty, and remain engaged in worship of your Lord till the last breath. You should not be careless from His adoration even any moment till death. By acting upon this, the burden; which you feel on your bosom (due to maltreatment of refractory people), will be removed.

Known from it is that remembrance of Allah Almighty every time, prayer, prostration and worship of Merciful Lord are such things, by which the heart is satisfied, and the narrowness in the heart due to cursing and taunting by the people is not born. After that, Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) used to run unto the Prayer during every trouble.

Commentary

It is commanded that You {O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)} should continue delivering that Message fearlessly and unhesitatingly; which is full of pleasure and life. As the worshippers of idols, idolaters; are deprived of it, but these handful people cannot be determined cause of world’s adversity. You should ignore their villainies and mischief, and fall not short in proclaiming the Truth due to them. They can never harm you. We are Sufficient from your side against all of them. There is no ignorant more than them that they set others as worshipped instead of Allah Almighty.

The entire universe and its all things are under possession of Allah Almighty. He is their Creator and fulfills their entire requirements. Then why do they spread their hands before others leaving Him and pay homage to them? Neither they can give something to such people and nor can snatch. Those are quite helpless idols of stones, by picking up; which can be thrown or kept anywhere. They will come to know very soon that consequence of misbehaving with the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), scoffing upon His Sayings and prostrating before other things is very bad.

89.  And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner.

90.  Such as We sent down on the dividers-

91.  Those who broke the Qur’aan into parts.

92.  Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one-

93.  Of what they used to do.
89.  Wa  qul  ‘inniii  ‘anan-naziirul-mubiin.

90.  Kamaaa  ‘anzalNaa  ‘alal-muqtasi-miin.

91.  ‘Allaziina  ja-‘alul-Qur-‘aana  ‘iziin.

92.  Fawa  Rabbika  laNas-‘alan-nahum ‘ajma-‘iina.

93.  ‘Ammaa  kaanuu  ya’-ma-luun.

(Part One – Forth.)

Commentary

‘Al-muqtasi-miina – (the dividers), it is the subject from the word ‘iqtasaam, origin of which is qas-mun. qas-mun means “to divide”. From the same origin, the words maqsuum and taqsiim etc. have come out. ‘Iqtasaam means “to divide in each other by separating the shares”.

‘Iziina – (into pieces, parts), this word is plural of ‘azu, usually plural of which is ‘a’-zaa’.

It has been commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) of Allah Almighty: Your only duty is to cause to understand the people. If they do not accept, let them mind their own business. When you have explained before them, then you should be separated from them with patience and say to the disbelievers: I am a plain Warner, without showing partiality. You will see very soon that those infidels who have divided the works of preventing from Islam among one another, and have broken this Holy Qur’aan into parts separately that “you will accept its some parts and reject other parts”, upon them, the same anguish has fallen suddenly, from which I was going to warn.

Then Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) of Allah Almighty is being commanded: By thy Lord, We shall question them about their wicked deeds and say! Why did you disobey Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)?

87.  We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur’aan.

88.  Strain not thine eyes (wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them, and lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the Believers.
87.  Wa  laqad  ‘aatay-Naaka  Sab-‘am-minal-masaanii  wal-Qur-‘aanal-‘Aziim.

88.  Laa  tamuddanna  ‘ay-nayka  ‘ilaa  maa  matta’-Naa  bihiii  ‘az-waajam-minhum  wa  laa  tahzan  ‘alayhim  wakhfiz  janaahaka  lil-Mu’-miniin.

Commentary

Masaanii – (the things which are read (recited) again and again). This word is plural of mas-naa, origin of which is sa-na-ya. San-yun means – to repeat. Mas-naa means – that which is doubled. The aim from Saba’-masaanii is (seven verses of) Suratul-Faatihah (First Chapter of Holy Qur’aan), which is recited in prayers again and again and which is the best supplication. It should be recited every time.

Laa  tamuddanna – (Do not strain!), it is an efficacious negative from the word madd. Madd means “to view, to strain, to stretch, to expand”. ‘Ay-nayka – (your both eyes). The aim from the words “Laa  tamuddanna  ‘ay-nayka” is “you should not look at”.

‘Az-waajun – (certain classes), it is plural of zawj, which means “a couple”, that is to say, two things; one of which is opposite to the other and those both are a joint of each other.

‘Ikhfiz  janaahaka  – (lower your wing). The word ‘ikhfiz has been derived from khafzun, which means “to cause to bend downward, to bow”. The aim from “lower your wing” is “to behave with softness”.

It is commanded: We have bestowed on you Blessing like “Suratul-Faatihah” (Chapter – The Opening) and the entire Holy Qur’aan. These are the best things for reciting. As soon as you will recite them, you will know that opposite behavior and enmity of the disbelievers is noting. For your help, Omnipotent and Most Powerful Master of the masters exists. After it, there is neither any need for you to suffer due to them, and nor there remains any importance of those worldly transitory goods; which have been given to certain people of them. You should treat them with kind and grace who have believed, and ignore them who are disbelievers. Divine Wrath will seize them naturally.

Commentary

Only two things are seen by the inhabitants of the earth usually:

·       Openness over head, which seems spreading all around.

·       The earth, on which they used to move, sit and sleep.

The sky and the earth, and whatsoever exists in between these both, is called the world and the universe. This entire universe has not come into existence automatically. Its Creator is Allah Almighty. It is not a toy, but He has fixed its all atoms at their proper places by understanding well with His Knowledge and Wisdom. You heard the circumstances of ancient nations that; that nation was removed which adopted the way of rebellion.

You people should listen to the Sayings of the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), otherwise you will be determined as rebels and your end will be “destruction” only. On the other side, the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has been satisfied that “You should deliver Your Message and be patient on violence of the mutinous people; and forgive them on their arrogances with endurance and steadiness. Your Lord has created this universe very thoughtfully and He is Aware of its every particle. At last the rebellious and mischievous people cannot revive here. However they are given respite certainly, but it is sure that the Day of Resurrection shall come. So they will be punished properly on that Day due to their wicked deeds”.

Commentary

‘As-haabul-HIJRI – (the dwellers in Al-Hijr), this is the folk, which is called Thamud. Their story has been mentioned at various places in Holy Qur’aan. Hijr was the name of their township.

Yanhi-tuuna – (they used to hew), origin of this word is na-ha-ta. Nahat means “to hew”. Here it aims “stone-cutting”.

At the North side of Madinah, there was another township, name of which was Hijr. A folk, named Thamud, was dwelling there. Those people used to build stony houses by digging hills and hewing stones with tools into them, which were solid and spacious. Those people were of strong and heavy bodies, and they used to consider slight to all other people before them.

Allah Almighty sent Salih (peace be upon him) appointing him as His Messenger unto them. He (peace be upon him) said: Give up pride and arrogance. Allah Almighty is the Strongest. Fear Him. He is Who has given you these entire good things. Be thankful to Him.

They disobeyed Prophet Salih (peace be upon him). So the doom of earthquake and awful cry was descended upon them. Then their strength and power was of no use and their lasting houses did not save them. You should understand from it that your all plans are useless before Allah Almighty.
