58.  Qul  bi-Faz-Lillaahi  wa  bi-Rahmati-Hii  fabi-zaalika  fal-yaf-rahuu.  Huwa  khayrum-mim-maa  yajma-‘uun.

Commentary

It was described in the previous verse that the people should incline unto Holy Qur’aan. In it, there are beneficial matters for them, a balm for that which is in the breasts, a Guidance for Believers and finally; Mercy (every good thing) from Allah Almighty. It is useless to possess the things violently and forcibly, being pleased and proud of powerful and intelligent in the world. You cannot acquire actual pleasure from wealth and property, sway and authority etc.

It is commanded that you {O Messenger – (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)} should say to the people: Those things, due to which, you have been rejoicing and exulting; are accidental and fickle only. The pleasure of forever can be gotten at such time when you hear the exhortations of Holy Qur’aan and act upon them. You should clean your heart from enmity, envy, spite and extreme desire etc. Obey the commands of Holy Qur’aan sincerely and at last; gain the Mercy of Allah Almighty, name of which is prosperity and success. It is Benefaction of Allah Almighty which He bestows with His Bounty to those people who determine the Holy Qur’aan as their Conductor.

However, it is the occasion of being pleased for him who got the Bounty and Mercy of Allah Almighty. And the worldly toys which they gather, for example; wealth and property or any empire of a country, all such things are groundless. Kingdom is acquired when others are deprived of it. Wealth is collected at such time when other people long for food of one time. Woe to that joy which is gotten by annoying thousands of people. And curse to such laughing which is acquired by causing thousands to weep. Give up these entire disputes. Those things cannot please you which you collect. Therefore, it is better if you are entitled of Allah’s Mercy by acquiring His Delight. You will gain real and permanent pleasure with His Mercy.
