The Grace of God’s Cherishment
Chapter “Mu’-minuun” – (The Believers) -
23
‘A-‘uu-zu Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah
from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّٰهُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍۭ بِهِۦ لَقَٰدِرُونَ 18 فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍوَأَعْنَٰبٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَٰكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ 19
|
18. And We sent down
from the sky water in measure, and We give cause it to settle in the earth,
and lo! We are Able to withdraw it.
19a. Then We produce
for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes.

18. Wa ‘anzalNaa
minas-samaaa-‘i maaa-‘am- bi-qadarin
fa-‘as-kanNaahu fil-‘arzi wa ‘inNaa ‘alaa
zahaabim- bihii la-Qaadiruun.
19a. Fa-‘ansha’-Naa lakum
bihii
jannaatim-min-nakhiilinw-wa ‘a’-naab.

Commentary
Allaah Almighty created the mankind, created the earth and the skies also
for him. It was the magnificence of the creation, which is visible from
everything of the world. And particularly the creation of the mankind is full
of the Signs of His Omnipotence from the beginning to the end. These Signs were
mentioned in the previous verses. Moreover, after creation of the mankind, he
was not left in the condition of secluded from society, but every required
thing was provided to him for keeping up his worldly life. It is the Grace of
His Cherishment, which has been described in these verses.
It is commanded: Allaah Almighty collected the clouds in
the air and caused to rain from them, so that the land should become fertile by
its water. That water is sent down in measure that it should be sufficient to
remove the dryness of the earth. Neither it should be as much abundant that the
land is drowned and nor as much less that the earth become dust. Think for
awhile that how much necessary is the water for revival and moistness of the
earth?
It is commanded: You should meditate that if We had not sent
down the water in suitable measure then what the condition of the earth would have
been? Not only the land but the mankind also would have been in trouble and it
would have become difficult for him to live on the earth. There would have been
no cattle and animal. Your Lord is He Who caused to rain water and refreshed
everything. Behold! It is the blessing of water that grains, fruit and
vegetables of various kinds began to grow from the earth. Gardens of date-palms
and grapes were produced. Human beings and animals (both) thrived.
