Quran Chapter 10-104a (Pt-11, Stg-3)(L-1333) -درس قرآن

First lesson of Islam is that All-Powerful is Allah

Surah YUUNUS - 10 (JONAH)

 BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

104a.  Say (O Muhammad): O mankind! If ye are in any doubt as to my religion, then (know that) I worship not those whom ye worship instead of Allah,
104a.  Qul  yaaa-‘ayyu-hannaasu  ‘in-  kuntum  fii  shakkim-min-  diinii  falaaa  ‘a’-budul-laziina  ta’-buduuna  min-  duu-Nillaahi

Commentary

Allah Almighty commands to His last Messenger, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) that he should say to the people who do not believe: Behold! I explain before you about the summary of my religion. Open your ears, understand it thoroughly that I do not believe in any of the deities appointed by you with your own will. My Worshipped is only One God, Allah, The Most High. Except Him; I do not make Deity to any other. I worship only Him and do not make anything as a partner with Him, because “if I shall do so, it will be meant that He Alone is not able to be a Worshipped, when I shall include others then He will be a perfect God” (May Allah Almighty forgive me!). These both matters are opposite to my religion. First thing is infidelity, that is to say; totally denial of Allah Almighty; and ascribing other things as partners in worship by setting Him aside. Second thing is Polytheism, that is to say; accepting that Allah is Worshipped but there are some more; which are His partners.

In this verse, the first and the biggest fundamental principle of Islam has been described, name of which is Oneness of God Almighty (Tawhiid). Tawhiid means “Not to prostrate before anything of the universe, and not to disgrace oneself before that thing; being awe-stricken from its splendor. Apparent senses of the human being cause him entangled in deception. Naturally he feels that he is weak. To which thing he considers powerful, bows before it. Feeling that someone else is more powerful and bowing before him; considering most respectful, is just like making him own worshipped.

It is the fist lesson of Islam that All-Powerful is One Allah Almighty. Everything of the universe is helpless before Him. Therefore, the mankind should not prostrate before any person or thing save Him (Allah Almighty).
