Every man will come to know all realities

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

6.  Yet it may be, if they believe not in this statement, that thou (Muhammad) wilt torment thy soul with grief over their footsteps.

7.  Lo! We have placed all that is on the earth as an ornament thereof that We may try them; which of them is best in conduct.

8.  And lo! We shall make all that is thereon a barren mound.
6.  Fala-‘allaka  baakhi-‘un-naf-saka  ‘alaaa  ‘aasaarihim  ‘illam  yu’-minuu  bi-haazal- Hadiisi  ‘asafaa.

Commentary

Baakhi-‘un – (that which hurts, confounds, torments), it is the subject from the word bakh-‘un, which means “to ruin, to melt, to become lean”.

Baakhi-‘un-naf-saka – (you will torment your soul).

‘Alaaa  ‘aasaarihim – (by looking their wicked deeds). The word ‘aasaar is plural of ‘asar, which means “the sign which any thing leaves behind”. Here it aims “the result of deeds”, that is to say; such bad habits which are result of evil deeds. ‘Asafun – (grief of holding not any particular thing). This word has passed in Surah Yousuf.

Sa-‘iidan – (mound, sand, clay, an artificial elevation of the earth) – it has passed in Surah Nisaaa’ and Maaa-‘idah.

Juruzan – (barren), the land which does not have greenness or which was green earlier but then it became barren. This word is an adjective from jaraz. Jaraz is the land; grass or crop of which has been finished and now that is only a plain field.

It is commanded: Will you torment your soul by grieving for the reason that why do they not believe? You should not be distressed if they do not accept your religion. The only responsibility of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is to guide the people unto the Straight Path and show practically “how to go on it”. We have given sense and power of understanding to the mankind, but along with it, We have decorated apparent form of the world also with its beautiful and fascinating things, because We desire to examine the human beings, so that We may judge, whether the mankind is pleased on the world or he dwells with the fear of God Almighty. A time will come when all the things will be finished which are in the earth and it will become like a barren mound. Then every human being will come to know the entire realities.
